Due to the fact that thermal imaging measures surface temperatures, we would ask that the following points are strictly observed as this will assist us to obtain accurate images of your horse:
TWO HOURS BEFORE THE INSPECTION YOUR HORSE MUST BE
· Clean and brushed with all dirt removed
· Feet picked out and brushed clean
· All bandages and boots removed
· All blankets and rugs removed
· No liniment/heat rubs/cold hosing on the day of the inspection
The above points are extremely important as the thermal camera works by identifying areas of abnormal temperature.
If possible we would prefer to examine the horse in its own stable where it feels most comfortable. Do not touch, stroke or brush the horse during the thermal examination. The heat from your hands or the friction of the brush will show up as anomalies in the thermal image.
Failure to adhere to the above will result in having to re-schedule the inspection.
