Welcome to the ThermoZone homepage ...
We offer a specialized service to Vets, Farriers, Physio’s, Trainers, Saddle Fitters and Horse Owners. Our aim is to make this technology, plus a certified thermographer available and affordable to the equine community.
BENEFITS
The major benefit of Equine Thermography is that it is
· Completely safe
· Portable
· Non-invasive
· Non-contact.
· It’s your “early warning system”
ANSWERS THE “WHERE” QUESTIONS
Thermography has a primary role in locating the whereabouts of a problem area. It quickly pinpoints the WHERE and reveals the physiological change of tissue as it is occurring now.
WHY A “CERTIFIED” THERMOGRAPHER
Certified Thermographers are trained to ‘read’ thermal images just as a radiologist reads x-rays and an ultrasound technician reads ultrasound images. Certified thermographers are required to keep their certification current in keeping with international standards

The body is designed to be in balance and we are looking for differences. Hot spots can indicate inflammation and an area of increased circulation, and cold spots can also suggest a problem. In fact a cold spot shows a reduction in blood supply, which can be caused by swelling, thrombosis, scar tissue or an issue with the nervous system; all of which may require veterinary intervention. Thermal images reveal underlying issues in horses that may have previously gone unnoticed and untreated, until eventual breakdown makes it obvious.

HOW DOES THERMAL IMAGING ASSIST YOU
Owners who practice a preventative approach to their horse’s health and are concerned about the impact on their horse’s back, limbs and hoof balance will benefit from regular thermal scans which they can share with their vets, farriers, physio’s etc. A thermal report can provide the information to allow the ‘jigsaw pieces’ of the horse to fall into place.
These scans can show up slight changes and irregularities that may be addressed and rectified by management or treatment, before damage takes place or for someone wishing to monitor an injury before returning to work after a breakdown.
Thermal imaging is very good for pain assessment, picking up nerve damage, muscle atrophy, and for finding a particular issue of an indefinable ‘not quite right-ness with your horse.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A THERMAL SCAN
Prior to your horse’s scan, you will provide ThermoZone with a brief veterinary/injury history.
Always follow the preparation guide lines that ThermoZone has sent to you, so that you get the best possible results. An inspection report will be compiled following the scan, and sent directly to you, which you can make available to your vet, farrier etc.
I will travel for groups, so please email or call for information and costs. If you want an information flyer to email to friends, this is available from me.
